Houston Astros pitcher Bryan Abreu was suspended for 2 videogames and fined Saturday by Major League Baseball, which stated he purposefully tossed at Adolis García of the Texas Rangers throughout Game 5 of the AL Championship Series.

MLB stated all 6 umpires chose Abreu’s pitch was deliberate. MLB stated it “took into account the harmful nature of the pitch and its possible effect on gamer security.”

Abreu would start the suspension with Game 6 on Sunday unless he appeals. His pitch began a benches-clearing event that led to a 12-minute hold-up before play resumed.

The suspension was revealed by MLB senior vice president Michael Hill. An appeal would be heard by John McHale Jr., a unique assistant to baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred.

García and Astros pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. were fined along with Texas pitcher Matt Bush. McCullers and Bush are being forbidden for sitting on their group benches for the rest of the series.

Houston supervisor Dusty Baker was fined for his actions following his ejection. Baker stayed in the Astros dugout for 6 minutes before leaving for the clubhouse.

Baker was asked Saturday about his idea procedure in sitting back down in the dugout after being ejected.

“My idea procedure is I wasn’t allset to go since it shouldn’t have tookplace in the veryfirst location,” he stated. “That was my idea procedure.”

He was then asked what the umpires stated when they approached him in the dugout when he wouldn’t leave.

“Well, they didn’t state much,” he stated. “They kind of simply turned around and stated: ‘He’s not leaving.’ Then they turned around and stated they can’t start till I leave.”

Baker was asked about the event.

“It takesplace,” he stated. “And you puton’t script it. It’s a spontaneous, flammable response that gets out of control. And most of us desire to be under control. Most of us desire to play ball. Most wear’t desire to box.”

Texas supervisor Bruce Bochy was asked if he believes there will be carryover from the scuffle into Game 6.

“I wear’t see truly any of this occurring onceagain, to be sincere,” he stated.
