FIFA sets May 2024 date to choose 2027 Women’s World Cup host

FIFA set a timeline Thursday to choice the 2027 Women’s World Cup host, providing prospective prospects one month to signupwith the contest ahead of a vote in May next year.

Brazil, South Africa and a co-hosting job by Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany have formerly stated they desire to quote for the competition.

FIFA stated its judgment council — a 37-member worldwide group chaired by the governing body’s president Gianni Infantino — will choose up to 3 quotes late in the project for a vote by more than 200 member federations.

The choice will be made at the FIFA Congress on May 17 next year at a location not yet revealed.

FIFA set secret dates Thursday leading to the vote, beginning with an April 21 duedate for member federations to register interest in bidding.

They oughtto participatein the 2023 competition in July and August, being co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, and file official quotes with FIFA by Dec. 8.

The FIFA Council will designate an assessment panel to checkout and examine the quotes priorto publishing reports on them priorto the vote.

FIFA dedicated to “respecting globally acknowledged human rights” in all “activities in connection with bidding for and hosting” the competition.

Gifts of just “symbolic or insignificant worth” can be used on behalf of quote projects, FIFA stated, and needto not be connected to any dedication of assistance or develop a dispute of interest.

The competition is mostlikely to have 32 groups playing a overall of 64 videogames, though FIFA has not verified the competition format.
