Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro states he will gothrough surgicaltreatment Friday for his damaged ideal hand and mostlikely won’t return this postseason unless his group wins the Eastern Conference title.
Herro stated Tuesday that the injury needs 4 to 6 weeks of healing. The conference finals start in mid-May and Game 1 of the NBA Finals is June 1.
“That’s the hope,” Herro stated. “Get to the finals and I can get back for that.”
Herro hurt his hand Sunday while diving for a loose ball late in the 2nd quarter of the Heat’s 130-117 triumph over the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series. Game 2 is Wednesday in Milwaukee.
“I seen the video and I still wear’t understand like where I hit my hand,” stated Herro, a Wisconsin native who finished from Whitnall High School in the Milwaukee residentialarea of Greenfield. “I still puton’t understand. I mostlikely shouldn’t have dove on it, however I was attempting to produce some energy. We were on the roadway, in my hometown. Just attempting to play hard.”
Herro’s injury leaves the Heat without their third-leading scorer behind Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. Herro balanced 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 helps throughout the routine season.
“Being in the playoffs, you work so hard all year to be in this minute,” Herro stated. “I feel like I had some things to show this postseason. It was a hard minute. I still can’t think it.”
