Elon Musk on Sunday renewed the account of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on X, previously Twitter, reneging on a year-ago vow to keep Jones off the social network.
Jones was formerly suspended from Twitter in 2018 for breaking the business’s “abusive habits policy.” That suspension, considered irreversible under the business’s prior management, came as Jones dealtwith a disparagement claim for dispersing the incorrect claim that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a scam.
Musk’s choice to bring Jones back to X comes on the anniversary week of the Sandy Hook shooting.
