Lil Wayne Reflected On Hip Hop’s Evolution As The Genre’s 50th Anniversary Nears
The Young Money rapartist sat down for an special interview with Billboard released Tuesday. During the interview, Wayne shared his ideas on the upcoming 50th anniversary of hip hop, set to take location on August 11.
“Hip-hop will neverever be over,” he withconfidence discussed when asked what he would state to the “naysayers” who atfirst “dismissed” the category as a “fad.”
Additionally, he went on to share that out of his 29 years as a signed artist, today is when he sees “the most modification” in the music category — something he credits to the increase of social media.

Wayne went on to state that social media has “changed the category” and “opened doors.”
