We’re now at the two-month mark of Zak Starkey’s full-circle firing saga from the Who and subsequent rejection from Oasis, and his father, a man by the name of Ringo Starr, went on a peace-and-love hiatus to deal with the situation. Speaking with Rolling Stone about his firing and how Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend “are fuckin’ insane” to work with, Starkey said that his dad was a great support system throughout the ordeal. “I’m very proud of him standing up for me,” the drummer explained of Starr. “He said, ‘I’ve never liked the way that little man runs that band.’” However, Starkey doesn’t blame or hold a grudge against either Who player, even insisting that he grew “uncomfortable with that sort of negative attitude” the public harbored toward Daltrey. “Weirder shit than this has gone down. I’ve heard them say weirder shit than this,” he added. “It’s the Who — the maddest band there’s ever been.” Some other
