John Fetterman of Pennsylvania on Saturday endedupbeing the veryfirst Democratic U.S. senator to call on Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey to resign in the face of a criminal bribery indictment unsealed Friday.

Menendez reacted to his critics late Friday. “Those who think in justice think in innocence upuntil tested guilty. I plan to continue to battle for the individuals of New Jersey with the verysame success I’ve had for the past 5 years,” he stated in a declaration.
