The Shepherd Mayfair, a new 82-room boutique hotel, is set to open its doors later this year in London’s historic Shepherd Market. Developed by Bain Capital and Orka Investments, the hotel will join the Elegant Hotel Collection, marking a milestone for the area with its combination of luxury and historical influence.
A blend of history and contemporary elements
Situated just off Park Lane, the Shepherd Mayfair occupies a prime location within a historic site that has been transformed from the former Park Lane Mews Hotel. The project, designed by architecture and interior design firms Buckley Gray Yeoman and Timothy Shepherd, blends the area’s 17th-century legacy with a modern boutique hotel experience.
“We have taken this thought process into specific areas, from the guest experience, culinary offering, to the cocktail bar. The historic ‘Mansions of Mayfair’ where business and pleasure were brought together, in many ways they were the original boutique hotels, where society hosted and commerce created wealth. With this perspective we have come to look at The Shepherd Mayfair as a modern day interpretation of that.” – Timothy Shepherd, Design Principal for The Shepherd Mayfair.
The hotel will be home to three distinct dining concepts: a lobby café serving artisan coffee and light snacks, the all-day brasserie Fayre offering seasonal dishes, and a speakeasy cocktail bar, Teddy’s, located in the basement. This blend of culinary options reflects the hotel’s commitment to creating a social and sophisticated space for both locals and international guests.
The Shepherd Mayfair investment takes advantage of Mayfair’s established position as a sought-after location in London. With its mix of historical significance and modern offerings, the development aims to cater to both hotel guests and residents,
