June 8 (UPI) — The Canadian truck M/V Michipicoten clashed with an unidentified undersea things near Isle Royal on Saturday earlymorning and is hopping to a close-by port while taking on water.
The 689-foot truck is bring a load of taconite iron ore and left Two Harbors, Minn., before clashing with the undersea things about 35 miles southwest of Isle Royal in Lake Superior.
The U.S. Coast Guard Great Lakes District got reports of the crash at 6: 53 a.m.
The vessel has a team of 22 and was listing at 15 degrees when the Coast Guard discovered of its situation.
The ship’s water pumps decreased the list to 5 degrees by 9: 15 a.m., and half the ship’s team hasactually been gottenridof for security safetymeasures.
