Former President Donald Trump composed in a social media post on Sunday that he won’t affirm in his $250 million civil scams trial in New York on Monday.
“I will not be affirming on Monday,” Trump composed in an all-caps, multi-part post on Truth Social.
Trump had formerly been anticipated to return to the witness stand this week to affirm in his own defense in the scams trial brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
“President Trump has currently affirmed,” Trump’s lawyer Chris Kise stated in a declaration on Sunday. “There is actually absolutelynothing more to state to a Judge who hasactually enforced an unconstitutional gag order and hence far appears to haveactually neglected President Trump’s statement and that of everybody else included in the complex monetary deals at problem in the case.”
