May 7 (UPI) — Eleven U.S. residents, consistingof 5 minors, were amongst 22 individuals repatriated from northeast Syria, Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed Tuesday.

Others repatriated consistof 6 from Canada, 4 from the Netherlands and one from Finland, The Hill reported.

Blinken stated 8 kids in overall were amongst the 22 repatriated Tuesday.

“In conducting this complex repatriation and resettlement the department collaborated carefully with our inter-agency partners,” Blinken stated in a declaration.

Blinken stated the FBI, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service and the departments of Defense, Justice, and Health and Human Services helped in the repatriation efforts.

Blinken stated it was the biggest single repatriation including U.S. people from northeast Syria.
