Every gamer taken in the NFL draft has a story, and every draft produces a standout minute or 2.
But there was absolutelynothing more psychological than what went down in the Cowboys’ war space when they made the 2nd of their 2 sixth-round choices on Saturday.
That’s when Dallas chose they were going to take Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn. And then they let his father Chris, the group’s assistant director of college searching, be the one to make the phone call.

“In 30 years in this league, I’ve neverever seen that,” head coach Mike McCarthy informed media members. “That was a extremely unique minute.”
“I’ve neverever had an experience like that in the draft space,” owner Jerry Jones stated later.
“For me, it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever been included in,” included Will McClay, the group’s vice president of gamer workers. “In that minute, it’s about household. You talk about the Cowboys, you talk about football, you talk about household. When you get that chance to share that experience with a actually great gamer that’s going to aid us, that’s what it’s all about.”
McCarthy stressed that the choice wasn’t simply a feel-good household minute; it was about choosing a quality football gamer who racked up over 3,600 hurrying lawns in 3 seasons as a Wildcat.
