Look, I’m not attempting to talk down on Valdes-Scantling here. He’s a excellent gamer. But he’s not a No. 1 getting risk. The Chiefs wear’t have one of those.
I understand he has Travis Kelce, however Travis is a tight end. And he’s 34 years old. Sorry, Swifties, Trav is fantastic. But he’s not extending the field anylonger. He doesn’t have the top-end speed.
Letting Tyreek Hill out the door was unsafe. It worked last season. The Chiefs won the Super Bowl, clearly, so it’s difficult to state it was a bad choice in hindsight. But now it’s coming back to bite Kansas City.
