A bit of recommendations for anybody goingto Yellowstone National Park: While browsing for wildlife, constantly take a minute to glimpse behind you.
It might be satisfying even if you’re currently observing big animals.
The accompanying images program a coyote that I photographed in May 2023 while standing near a roadway with other travelers enjoying a cinnamon black bear and 2 cubs.
The bears were down a forested slope, possibly 80 backyards from the roadway. The coyote was behind us, on the opposite side of the roadway, death practically undetected about 40 lawns away.
I didn’t recognize till that night that a smallersized animal was likewise in the image, viewing the coyote. Can you area and ID the animal? (Answer listedbelow.)
While coyotes aren’t high on numerous travelers’ identifying lists, I discovered it intriguing that this coyote was on the relocation so close to individuals who were looking in the opposite instructions.

My sightings log for 3 days: 14 private bears, the coyote and ground squirrel (see picture above), the mountain goats, and lots of pronghorn and bison.
