Walt Disney World no longer requires face masks for guests.
Face masks were already optional for fully vaccinated guests across much of the Florida resort, with the exception of onboard enclosed Disney transportation.
Masks are now optional for all guests and “recommended for guests who are not fully vaccinated in indoor locations and enclosed transportation,” according to an update Tuesday to the resort’s website.
The policy shift comes as airlines and other forms of public transportation ease masking requirements after a U.S. District Court judge in Florida voided the federal mask mandate Monday.
At the same time, traditional character greetings returned to the parks Monday for the first time since the pandemic. Guests can now hug Mickey and the gang without social distancing or face masks.
Face masks are still required for guests over age 2 “in certain indoor settings including Disney shuttles and in health settings, such as in First Aid,” at Disneyland in California, the company said.
