More than 1.3 million chickens are being butchered on an Ohio egg farm as the bird influenza continues to take a toll on the market.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture stated all 1.35 million chickens on the farm in Ohio’s Union County will be butchered to aid limitation the spreadout of the extremely infectious infection after a case was verified in the flock this week.

The breakout that started in early 2022 hasactually been much less serious this year as less cases of the infection are being discovered amongst the wild birds that spread it. But there have still been 8.1 million birds eliminated this year to assistance control the spreadout of the illness and 5.8 million of those have come simply this month as numerous big egg farms haveactually been struck.
