MIAMI — The world’s biggest cruise ship — the size of practically 4 city obstructs — is set to start its maiden trip Saturday as it leaves from the Port of Miami.

Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas runs almost 1,200 feet (365 meters) from bow to stern.

The ship, which is leaving South Florida for its veryfirst seven-day island-hopping trip through the tropics, was formally christened Tuesday with assistance from soccer legend Lionel Messi and his Inter Miami colleagues.

“Icon of the Seas is the conclusion of more than 50 years of dreaming, innovating and living our objective – to provide the world’s finest holiday experiences properly,” Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty stated earlier this week. “She is the supreme multigenerational household trip, permanently altering the status quo in household travel and satisfying holiday dreams for all ages on board.”
