Oct. 20 (UPI) — A federal judge on Friday momentarily raised a partial gag order she put on previous President Donald Trump in his election disturbance case.

U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is supervising the case in Washington, D.C., stated she was staying the order to provide the 2 celebrations time to offer with Trump’s appeal of the gag order.

Chutkan released the gag order Monday, avoiding Trump from providing declarations targeting unique counsel Jack Smith and his group, and personnel working with the judge and other workers in the court. The order likewise prohibited Trump from making declarations about possible witnesses in the case.

Trump’s lawyers appealed the gag order Wednesday, stating it unjustly obstructs him from slamming individuals included in a political project versus him. They stated its part of a bigger plan to hurt him politically and avoid his return to the presidency.
