LAS VEGAS – Magomed Ankalaev thinks he oughtto be up next for a title shot.
The UFC light heavyweight competitor is positive he’s done more than Jamahal Hill, who’s thoughtabout the No. 1 competitor by lotsof, in the race to get a title shot versus champ Alex Pereira.
“The mathematics works out,” Ankalaev stated at Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 234 post-fight press conference. “I’m more deserving of the belt duetothefactthat I have 10 success, and 6 of them knockouts. Jamahal Hill has 8 battles overall in the UFC, so it’s simply clear I’m a more deserving competitor than Jamahal Hill.”
Ankalaev (19-1-1 MMA, 10-1-1 UFC) is unbeaten in his past 12 battles, however Hill is a previous champ in the department, who neverever lost his belt, as he had to leave it last July after suffering an injury. Hill’s supervisor justrecently informed MMA Junkie that he’s been guaranteed a title shot. There’s still no authorities state from the UFC relatingto Pereira’s initially title defense.
